Just A Lil' Thought

  Ever wonder that if we had cleaner minds, had kinder thoughts, and wanted to think the best of people what our world would be like? Did you ever realize how hard, back breaking work makes a difference? Keeping ourselves busy with what is important and seeing something grow, or building something, or raising a child and seeing things from their perspective can change the way that you think. That being happy and positive and staying that way instead of being depressed, or wanting to be negative I think that we could make this an amazing life. We need to change our way of thinking, how we think of ourselves and how we think of others. If we do this then we automatically change the way that we treat others.

  Why do we trade in joy for horror? Positivity for the negative side? Happiness for sadness? Are our lives that awful? Have people hurt us so much that we are unable to live our lives with joy and think well of our neighbors? Even if we are persecuted by others, count that as a little sacrifice. A sacrifice that might just earn you a special place in heaven.

  Did you ever stop to think that maybe the person that is persecuting you, and was spreading gossip or rudeness maybe has something in their lives that is making them act out? Did you ever stop to pray for that person and forgive them? Just try it one time, it might feel corny or weird to you at first. Keep trying, it gets easier. Stop to reflect on the way the grass shines when the sun hits it, how peaceful the buzzing of a bee can really be, how the laughter of a child can brighten your day and make you smile. Find gestures of kindness to counter act those of rudeness and thoughtlessness. Let me know if you try this, I guarantee things will get easier.

People are often unreasonable, illogica, and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish,ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good that you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best  you have and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

*NEW* In the LuvTheVintageCowgirl Etsy Shop!

Hello ladies! Just thought that I would post some of the new items in my etsy shop LuvTheVintageCowgirl! Right now I only have the shop set up to ship and sell to the United States so if you are interested in one of my items and you are living outside of the U.S. let me know and I will change it for you. :)

Also, most of you do not know that I was homeschooled. As a homeschooled teen age girl I often went to dances that required modest dresses, I will be selling some of those dresses on etsy and ebay soon so if any of you are interested or know of anyone that might be give me a holler! :D Some of the dresses did not any alterations, and some did. So you might see some that I altered myself, and other's may only need a little bolero jacket or shrug to cover the shoulders if you so desire. Anywho, let me know ladies! Hope you enjoy!

Love this dress! It's a Vintage Wedding Dress from the 1960's I'm thinking?

Or this Vintage Mauve Bridal Party Dress. Brides Maid or Maid of Honor dress maybe?

And what's wrong with being Curvy?

  Ok, so I'm wondering, what's wrong with being curvy? It seems the past 5 years I've been reading in magazines (most recently Redbook this morning at the doc's office) and heard on television that wearing this or wearing that can help hide your curves. Why?! And they aren't showing unhealthily "curvy" women, their models are beautiful young women with curves....so why in this day and age are we trying to hide our curves? Young or not, over weight or not. Why are they making it sound like it's something to hide?

  I often feel that I should have been born in a different time, say the 1950's? When women weren't ashamed of their figures. Curves are often seen as womanly, and feminine. What most women strive for. This is seen in the fashion industry during the 1950's, where the hourglass silhouette was desired and achieved. Having a petite hourglass figure (petite as in I'm only 5'1") I've always struggled with finding clothing that fits my body since nothing is made for us curvy girls...especially if you are petite!

  I'm all for women being happy with their shape and knowing how to dress to be their most attractive and happy self (because when you like how you look you are automatically happy!). So why do we have to bash each other? Or follow the "trend"? I mean, come on! I can't change my body shape to fit the newest "in" shape, and I wouldn't want to. Being healthy is one thing, if your being over or under weight is effecting your health then by all means exercise and change your food choices. But, lets not diet or gain weight to match the newest fad. And ladies, let's not feel guilty or depressed if we don't have a shape like everyone else, or some celebrity. Be happy with you...there isn't anyone else like you out there honey ;) so love who you are and take care of yourself.

  I'm sorry that ya'll had to hear my rant. But hey! What's a blog for, right? ;) Here are some inspirational pics for all of ya'll with curves like me. Enjoy!

Adios!
