Long over due post in "Blog Land"

Howdy!

It's been crazy how life has literally caught hold of my arm and yanked me around this past month! And on top of it I caught some kind of nasty cold that turned into bronchitis! I'm doing better now and getting the blogging itch! I've been away from it way too long and I'm needing some writing therapy. So be looking for a lot of posts from yours truly. ;)

Oh! And on a happier note my brother proposed to his beautiful girlfriend this past weekend! She asked me to be her Maid of Honor, soooo....you will be seeing lots of wedding posts as I chronical the first family wedding journey! She is planning a Celtic/Western themed wedding and we have already found her an amazing dress for a crazy price! I'm so very excited!

Take care ladies and have a blessed day!Adios!

Jean Review: Womens WRANGLER JEANS-Q-BABY

Howdy ya'll!

I decided to do reviews on jeans and my personal opinions on them. Which ones are perfect for mucking out the stables, ultimate riding jeans, or blingy jeans to hit up the nearest rodeo or honky tonk on a Saturday night. So here is a review on some of my favorite jeans: Wrangler!!!!

Q-BABY
The STATS:

  • Midrise jean. It has a rise anywhere from 8"-10"
  • Comfort fit waist band.
  • Regular/Straight/Orig Fit
  • Relaxed Hip and Thigh
  • Boot Cut
  • Stretch

The comfort fit waistband means that the inner waistband is elastic! LOVE this! It means no more gaps when you are trying to ride, groom, or anything else that might involve a lot of motion or bending. These have to be one of the most comfortable pairs of jeans that I have ever owned! I have found that this jean works for competitions, just plain old pleasure riding or trail riding, working around the barn, going out for the night, the black jeans are amazing at the office, or just to lounge around in because they are just that comfortable! I guess I'm saying that I wear them all the time ;)

Have a good week ya'll!

Praying for Colorado!

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry to bring this horrifying news to all of you this morning. I am literally in tears this morning, there was shooting at the midnight showing of the newest Batman movie in Aurora Colorado, 12 are dead and 50 are injured as of right now. I'm so worried about all of my friends in the Denver and Aurora area and praying that they are all ok.

I'm praying for all of the victims and their families this morning, this is just simply devastating and I can't imagine someone doing something so awful.

Sending prayers Colorado's way!

!!!Country Fried Chicken!!!

And who couldn't love this man? <3

I decided that while I was sitting here enjoying a John Wayne oldie ("An Innocent Man" to be exact) I would post pics of our dinner the other night and explain each one.

On the Menu:

  • Country Fried Chicken
  • Bacon Garlic Mashed Potatoes
  • Homemade Bread
  • Salad with Italian Dressing
THE COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN

Tenderize chicken with tenderizer mallet...it makes the chicken a lot thinner and easier to fry.

Dip the chicken in flour, then in buttermilk, and then back into the flour. Now you can fry it!

I used canola oil in a cast iron skillet to deep fry these. I wasn't sure if it would work but it did amazingly! Also, make sure that your stove setting isn't too high and that you turn these over regularly. Before taking out of the pan cut down the center and make sure that the chicken is cooked.

The finished meal! Sorry for the paper plate...we didn't want to have to wash dishes afterwards ;)

Hope ya'll enjoyed the pictures! You hungry yet?

Longhorns!

So just a quick note and a few pics that I had promised! My brother's girlfriend and I have been doing some landscaping around the our house, and thrifting a lot! So I've been terribly busy but wanting to post on here for the longest time. So here are the promised longhorn pictures from my trip to The Historic Fort Worth Stockyards! Wish I had taken more pics of all of the buildings but my camera went caput on me! Darn technology ;) Anyway, I hope that you enjoy!

Bringing Ya'll Up To Date

Hey everyone! So I've been a busy busy gal these past few days! The only evidence of this are the few pics that I took with my phone...oh and on my brother's girlfriend's camera so I will have to retrieve those pics from her fairly soon. So here has been my week in pictures:

My trusty Mountain Dew! I love that stuff, although I don't indulge in it often ;) This little darling of a dress I bought at Ross for $11.99 what a steal right? It is so flowing, light and breezy that I love it during the hottest days. (I will try to take some full length pics of it for you ladies.)

Now down to why I am holding this Mountain Dew bottle and wearing this dress. My brother's girlfriend was flying into the DFW airport and I guess I needed some artificial energy. lol! After picking her up we headed to Fort Worth Stockyards where they have amazing shops, gorgeous restaurants with delicious food, they have a "cattle drive" down through Main Street at 11 and 4 o clock every day (this is where they take the longhorn cattle through the streets from one pen to the other), and have period dressed cowboys and cowgirls riding horses and able to talk to anyone and everyone. If you are ever in this area of Texas I would suggest that you check it out. Also on your bucket list should be Billy Bob's, the Largest Honky Tonk in the world...literally. This is actually on my list of things to do as soon as I can. There is so much history there, especially if you are country music, or a western movie buff. Then we went to Risky's BBQ for dinner, and wow is the food good! Here are some pics:

Beef Brisket Sandwich

And to this beautiful radio that I saw in one of my favorite antique stores....
Sorry that it's side ways....

More to come, Adios!
